Apple Picking For The Perfect Apple Crumble!

One of my all-time favourite desserts is a classic apple crumble! As the nights get darker and the weather gets cold, a warm delicious apple crumble is the perfect pudding!

A fun autumnal activity before you start baking, is to pick the fruits yourself! I went to local orchard to collect some apples, as the season is coming to an end now I had to reach high to get the perfect apple. My recipe is for anyone that loves a golden, crunchy crumble topping, with sweet apples and a hint of cinnamon!

Life Update – Finishing Uni and Post-Uni Life

I feel like I need to introduce myself again, as it has been a while since I was last here… So hi I’m Megan, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet!

I thought today I would come back to my blog and delve into finishing uni and the post-uni life. My absence from my blog this year was mainly due to me finishing my final year, studying BA (Hons) English at Bournemouth University.

The start of my final year seems like a distant memory now, but sadly the academic year was cut short due to the pandemic. For many students like me, we were completely unaware which lectures would be our last and knowing when our final time on campus would be. Unfortunately, the many plans and celebrations I had for finishing uni were cancelled and the classic dissertation photo had to be done from home instead.

Lemon Drizzle Loaf

So, I am back with one of my favourite bakes, the classic Lemon Drizzle Loaf. Not only is a loaf cake an easy/quick recipe to do, but also a super tasty treat.

My go-to recipe is from Mary Berry’s Recipe Book, I have been using her recipes for years and they always come out as the perfect bake!

If the lemon loaf takes your fancy, then follow this recipe to make a scrumptious treat! 😊

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea is one of my favourite things to do, there’s something that feels so fancy about it, it’s like a much better version of lunch! Not to mention how the delicious food is miniature, it’s just too tempting not to resist!

Me and the family spent the afternoon at the ‘DoubleTree by Hilton’, just a few minutes outside Southampton. When we arrived, we were shown to the restaurant that held afternoon tea, the room itself was very nice, with a grand piano underneath a glass-window dome in the ceiling (which was stunning).

Transitioning into Spring

Its that time of the year where the first glimpse of sun causes everyone to go into a frenzy, from packing all our winter clothes away to sunbathing in our sun loungers. However, I often find that the transition between spring and summer is where my wardrobe struggles the most. Finding something that isn’t as warm as a jumper but not as a cold as a strappy crop top, this is the dilemma I face when I open my wardrobe every day.

Easter Iced Gem Recipe

Hi all,

Hope you all had a good Easter and got lots of delicious chocolate! I’m still trying to get through my pile of eggs, which shouldn't be too difficult! :)

Recently I have been in the habit of baking and especially with all the chocolate I have, I thought I could include it within my baking.

A must-see, to the pinkest prettiest café!

Of course, I am starting my first post around food! On a recent lunch date with a friend, we decided to go to the Instagram-famous, Peggy Porschen café.  When we arrived, the pink café could stand out a mile away, from the pink exterior to the lavish flower display outside, let’s just say it was major flower envy. The huge sign which read ‘love’ covered by pink flowers matched the pretty exterior and was a popular photo destination, with people racing to get the next free space outside the door!
